Organization Structure

CATiSE Program

The CubeCats Applied Training in Space Exploration (CATiSE) Program was designed to teach new members of the UC CubeCats systems engineering, project leadership skills, and technical skills for space like environments.

Executive Board

Our executive board comprises of five leadership positions- President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer, and Program Manager. Apart from these, we have several chair positions who help in the smooth functioning of the club.

Project Highlights

LEOPARDsat-1

LEOPARDsat-1 is a 1U CubeSat which will study the radiation mitigation effects of carbon-carbon composites. Once this satellite is in orbit it will operate for a minimum of 6 months at a target altitude of ~400km. Communication with this CubeSat will take place via our UHF ground station.

HABsat-1

HABsat-1 is a 3U CubeSat mission will carry a multispectral imager as its payload and study harmful algal blooms in the great lakes. After successful deployment and startup this satellite will operate for a minimum of one year and provide updated images at least every 16 days.

Project Lykoi

Project Lykoi is this year's HAB mission. This high-altitude=balloon will be a glider that reaches 100,000 feet of altitude. The glider shall be designed so that it will return to a locaton specified by the team. It will have cameras which will record/take images of the flight.
